Early primitive folk art wood fish decoys for ice fishing - Ontario
Ice or spear fishing decoys were used in the winter as lures. They were dropped through the hole in the ice on a string into the lake below to lure the fish to the spot where they would then be speared. There is a lead weight in the underside to help keep him under the water. No obvious signature present. Maker unknown.. .
Condition: As found. Wear as expected from age and use. See photos.
