Based on other paintings I have seen, this appears to be a self portrait of Fred Trask painting at his desk, but unlike some of his which are covered on the back with documentation, poetry etc., this one has nothing written on the back. Oil on 12" x 16" art board. Signed in front but undated. It is circa 1980. Good, original condition. Fred Trask lived across the road from Maud Lewis and witnessing her success started to paint. He is in many private and public collections and is documented in a few catalogs including Folk Art of Nova Scotia, brought out by the Halifax Museum.
