 Brass Goffering Iron

A 19th. century brass goffering iron missing its heating poker. These were used for ironing the frills on ladies dresses. A poker was heated in the fire and put into the hole in the iron. The frills were then pulled over the hot surface of the iron to get rid of the wrinkles. It is very well made with padded feet. 7" high.
