Aside from its nutritional value, the pig is noted for its intelligence and loyalty. Domesticated over 9000 years ago, it was a source of wealth to the Romans, Greeks and Gauls. This pig is "very plump and rich as a moneybox".
Probably where the term "piggy bank" originated.
