Popular Currier lithograph depicting 10 stages of the life and age of man between the cradle and the grave. These stages are represented on steps along a staircase, which symbolizes a life-span, crossing an arched bridge. Underneath the arched bridge is a scene entitled "Resist the Devil and he will flee from you." This scene is intended to challenge the viewer to live his or her own life-span virtuously rather than hedonistically. The paper is yellowed from long exposure to sunlight. There is one fold down the center and some water staining around the edges, as can be seen in the illustration. Measures approximately 13 1/4" x 17 1/4" framed and 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" unframed.
