Cupboard that was found in western NY state circa 1850 with untouched original paint, a formal kitchen buffet / jam type cupboard with turned legs. Purchased many years ago in Ontario. It boasts its very pleasing original painted cornstalk surface. It stands on the original turned legs. Two lapped drawers that have dovetailed built in dust-shelves. Both lower doors are beaded with recessed wood frames that are doweled. The panels have a lovely corn stalk painted surface. Wood knobs may have been repainted? Boldly dovetailed scrolled empire gallery. Interior is extremely clean showing little or no use. A sophisticated cabinetry technique of detailed decorative elements is shown in this cupboard.
