Nice example of an early dory compass , featuring a pine sliding lid housing with great old original finish. This compass was sold by the William Robertson and Son Chandlery of Halifax , NS ( as noted on face ) which now makes up a large part of the main floor of the Mariitme Museum of The Atlantic .
