Rare 18th Century Forged Iron Kettle or Trunion Grease Lamp Copper Font
This beautifully made trunion mounted font with a side wick support burned grease to provide light in the late 18th and early 19th century. The font, which is made of copper, can be tipped to temporarily soak the wick and then returned to level. It is a Pennsylvania Dutch style of lamp. It has a turned column at the base of the shaft and 4 snake or spade feet. It retains its original wick pick.
Approximate Dimensions: Height 7 1/2", Diameter of the top 2 1/4".
