Early figural cast iron 'American Bull Dog' brand folding bootjack, late 19th century.
This is not a reproduction, guaranteed. Originals can be identified by the quality of the casting. It is stamped on the inside of the gun "N& Co. Pat Pending".
Made to look like a cast iron pistol or cap gun, it spreads apart to reveal a boot spike in the center. The spike fits against the rear of the boot as it's being removed.
