EARLY ANTIQUE HAND MADE FIGURE ICE SKATES 19th CENTURY LUNENBURG NOVA SCOTIA CANADA
These 2 pair of handmade skates were found in Lunenburg Nova Scotia and are typical of the skates made there in the 19th century. I will show both pairs but list each separately. There are no maker's marks on either pair.
The forged iron blades end in nicely scrolled curls, each measuring 3" high.
The notches in the tail are typical of skates made there. They retain some of their original old red paint.
Approximate Dimensions: Length of skate 15" length of footbed 11".
Condition: As found. Small piece of wood missing from one footbed, see photo.
