19th Century Painted Cast Iron 5 Piece Carpenter Floor Train 24" long.
Painted cast iron floor train (black with red wheels, and some gold trim) made by Carpenter Toys Port Chester N.Y. The patent is embossed on the boiler 'June 8, 1880'. The set consists of an engine/locomotive a coal car and 3 gondolas
The tender and gondolas are painted red. All 4 are embossed on the underside "Pat. May 25, 1880 Reiss'd Mar. 14.82". There is a star cast into each side of the headlamp.

Approximate Dimensions: Locomotive: 7" long, Coal car 3.5" long, gondolas each 4.5" long. Total length is 24".
