I am selling a watercolour painting by Canadian artist, Harry Leslie Smith. Not dated but probably from the 1950's. Painting size approximately 5 1/2" X 7 1/2". Framed 12" X 13". Sticker on back: Picture Framing Robert Hubbard; 2329 Yonge Street; Toronto. Phone is MO 2411, which could probably help date the painting.
Harry Leslie Smith was born in Montreal, Quebec. He studied with Edmond Dyonnet at the Monument National, Montreal; and also at l”Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Montreal. He also did landscape painting with Maurice Cullen in Montreal. Working in oil and watercolor, his subjects include landscape, urban scenes, farm scenes with buildings, figures, portraits, and still life. He painted in the Laurentians, Eastern Townships, and Ste. Agathe areas of Quebec. He exhibited with the RCA in 1935-1951.
