Good early checkerboard which has at some point been attached to a table base, by which I am suggesting that this is probably a "make do", rather than an object built all at the same time. It functions well and has a nice look regardless, and the beautifully painted board top alone is worth the price. If you wanted to you could always take off the top, and put on a different appropriate top and get a game board and a table out of the deal, but then again it makes an interesting and unique side tale as is. Circa 1900. Nova Scotia. 32"wide, 18" deep, 30" tall. Nice, warm early patina pine base.
