This is an older pair of carved fish by the important Nova Scotia folk artist Sid Howard (1913 - 1991). Sid Howard remains as one of Nova Scotia's most popular, and widely collected folk artists. He is well documented and revered for the simple directness, and strength of his carvings. Some of his larger political carvings are in the collection of the Museum of Civilization, and other important museum and private collections. These fish were bought from the artist in the mid 70's and retain his original card stapled to the underside. Approximately 13" long. Excellent condition.
