Very well accomplished, untitled and unsigned oil on board painting of a gentleman enjoying dinner as his servant, or wife (I'm not suggesting they are one in the same) looks on. It was bought from Emmett's Gallery in Toronto as the label on the bottom right back notes. It does not appear to be tampered with but as you can see the varnish has gone rough in the black areas. This is hardly noticeable to the naked eye, but is exaggerated by photography. The image size is 11 1/2" x 14". The frame measures 17 1/2" x 20". Beautiful, and appropriate solid old frame which may or may not be original to the painting.
