JOHN TURTON HAND-CHASED SILVER PLATED TEA POT
A lovely hand-chased teapot with an eagle finial, a fluted spout and white porcelain handle stops. Made by John Turton at the Bow St. Works, 23-24 Times Building, Sheffield, England between 1876-1898. Signed on the underside “John Turton/Made In Sheffield/England/ Hand Chased/E.P.B.M/0785” under his 3 letter touch marks. There is a small indentation below the eagles’ tail but otherwise there are no dents, damage or silver loss & the handle & the lid are both tight & secure. Measures approx. 6.5 inches high. Circa 1880’s.
