An oval shaped, tin-glazed, pipe humidor in forest green with brown, white, light green & white blended accents. The separately cast & applied pipe on the lid acts as a handle. Detachable lid has 2 small chips under the edge while the body has one small chip rim, some crazing in the interior and one chip on one of the 4 feet. Probably English in origin it measures approx. 7 inches wide by 6 ¼ inches high. The lid still has the sponge inside which was soaked to keep the tobacco moist. Displays nicely and none of the chips are visible when the lid is in place and do not distract from the presentation. There are several impressed numbers under the base (see photo). Circa 1920.
