A large, very well modelled, glazed pottery fish pitcher in shades of green, brown & white with the glazed interior in pink. Overall condition is very good with only 2 short hairlines under the foot and a couple of spots of wear on the handle. Please see photos. Approx. 11 ¼ inches high. No makers mark but the letter “TB” or number “T3” is written on the underside, plus what looks like an embossed "D". See pictures. These pitchers, which also came in other tin-glazed colours, were believed to have been produced in England in the 1880’s. They were called gurgling fish pitchers because of the sound they made when pouring from them. There were also smaller versions of this pitcher.
