A well used 19th. century English pewter quart mug. It is engraved James Peters, Foresters Arms, Wouldham. Wouldham is a small village in Kent, near Chatham. In 1881 James Peters was listed as a beer house keeper in Wouldham. At that time he was 49 years old, married to Martha and had 4 sons and a daughter. The mug has two verification marks for Kent. There is a P engraved on the top of the handle so that James could identify his pot when it was hanging up in the bar.Bottom diameter 4 5/8", height 5 7/8".
