Museum-quality C.1840s pine cradle with folky heart cut-out motif.
Origin: Maryhill, Waterloo County, Canada. Dovetailed construction, original painted oxblood surface. Featured in Michael Bird's A Splendid Harvest: Germanic Folk Arts in Canada (1981: p.109, fig. 74). Considered the finest cradle to be found in Waterloo County.
Condition: Original untouched condition with surface wear as photographed.
