This full sized armoire was found north of Quebec City in a dirt floor drive shed years ago. Although intact, the base and bottom of the doors had dry rot . At considerable expense it was professionally restored with a green overwash. There is no evidence that it ever had a cornice but rather has a wonderful picture frame moulding. This magnificent piece leans more toward the Louis XV form with it's shaped panels and heavily carved scrolls. In a private collection in Quebec City from the moment of it's discovery and restoration, it is now comfortably situated at Hinton Antiques.
