Woodcut engraving of Canadian-born Indian writer, lecturer and entertainer GEORGE COPWAY or KAH-GE-GA-GAH-BOWH, 1850. Based on a sketch of Copway, by H. Anelay, depicting him delivering a lecture at a Temperance Meeting in Drury-Lane Theatre, London, England. Professionally mounted in period frame. The size of the engraving is approximately 4 1/2" X 9 1/4" unframed and 10 3/4" X 15 3/4" framed. The engraving is in excellent condition. A 1/8" paper spacer has been inserted between the bottom of the print and the mat.
