Downstairs is this cupboard that was found in NY state, a formal kitchen buffet jam cupboard with turned legs with untouched original paint. Purchased many years ago in Ontario. It boasts its very pleasing original painted cornstalk surface. It stands on the original turned bun legs. Two lapped dovetailed drawers that have dust shelves built in. Both doors are beaded with recessed wood doweled frames. The panels have a lovely corn stalk painted surface. Wood knobs, probably repainted. Boldly dovetailed scrolled empire gallery. Interior is extremely clean showing little or no use. A sophisticated cabinetry technique of detailed decorative elements is shown in this cupboard. Measures 42" W x 18" D x 54" H , plus adding the 8 inch high gallery board. It dates around the 1840-60's.
