A strong graphic image presented by an architectural ceiling medallion from the late 19th century. Typically houses of that period would have a medallion in the centre of the room from which a lighting device or fixture would hang. This is made from one piece of wood. It has good colour and surface. Just inside the painted ring are four old putty plugs that appear yellowish in the photograph but do not distract from the overall impact. Today, the medallion becomes a piece of art installed in a discerning collection. It is fun and has sunflower qualities. Diameter 15". The medallion is 1 1/2" deep.
