These serigraph prints with hand applied watercolour or guache highlights , are early examples of Donald Cameron Mackay's work. They were printed on Postcard stock by Donald, in the mid 1920's while he was an art student , and sold locally as a means to earn money to further his studies. Originally from the Oland Brewery estate , they have been in a private collection since the 1990's.

Born in New Brunswick, Donald Cameron Mackay (1906-1979) worked as war artist, illustrator, printmaker and painter over a career than spanned 50 years. Principal of the Nova Scotia College of Art from 1945 until 1971. His work is held in many private and public collections, including the Art Gallery Of Nova Scotia .
