This is an amazing quillwork box recently purchased from a Northern Ontario Collection . Made in the late 1970's or early 1980's by an unknown (likely Anishnabbe ) maker , this quill box is in very good condition, missing just one quill on the top, and two halves along the bottom edge. An almost lost art, this is a very complicated pattern executed by a master craftsman . Features a birchbark form, with thread bound sweetgrass binding, and decorated in a star pattern with dried and dyed porcupine quills.
Height : 4.25 inches
