Hanging wall box with mirror and towel rack. Upper portion is decorated with diamonds and semi-circles in black, ochre and red stains. Mirror has gilded border. Lower portion w/incised floral & geometric decoration. Old varnish covers all. Originally from a home within 2 miles of Truro, Nova Scotia. This type of wallbox is commonly found in Lunenburg County and were probably made in that area. See Spirit of Nova Scotia P. 145, plate 179 for similar example. Approx. 25 ½” H.; by 12” W. Circa 1900-1920.
