FORGED IRON DOOR LOCK-TULIP SHAPE
Hand wrought forged iron door lock having a wide frontal plate with notched & rounded areas around the perimeter and shaped like a tulip at one end. The plate has a pierced keyhole with an elongated protruding cylinder. The thumb press is decoratively notched on the upper side. Approx. 12L. x 4 W. inches. The shape is similar to Moravian locks but the lock could also have been made in Europe. From a Toronto collection. Age: 1750-1800.
