CAST IRON DECORATED FLUTING MACHINE
A great antique textile collectible in the form of a cast iron crimping/fluting/pleating machine made by the American Machine Co.. Philadelphia, P.A. and having twin brass rollers and its original stenciled decoration and wood crank handle. Each hollow roller contains an iron rod which can be removed for heating and reinsertion. Raised letters on the base spell out: “AMERICAN” and “PAT. AUG 19. 1879”. Gears turn freely. Stencils in great condition. Weighs about 7 pounds & measures approx.. 6 inches high & 8.5 inches wide when handle is removed. Includes the original clamp for attachment to a table.
