Iron bound storage chest
William Upton was born in England and worked with his father to engineer port installations in the Crimea fror Tzar Nicholas I. When a religious war broke out in 1854, he moved back to England and soonafter set sail for canada with a young family where Bowesville Rd and the Ottawa airport is today. The name Ottawa City existed for 2 years as part of Canada West during the 1850s. More research was done on Mr. Uptons and some of his diaries from the first years in Canada remain in Archives Canada.
